Reindeer Manor:

Reindeer Manor is located in Red Oak and has been scaring people for 34 years. This house continues to be one my favorites still today. It is the only haunted house that puts on a theatrical performance. The drive alone is creepy enough, not to mention its in the middle of the country with no city lights to be seen. The house is very much real with a true haunting past. So do yourself a favor and read the history. http://www.reindeermanor.com/haunted-history.htm

The wait in line is long, but entertaining at times. Can you say Fire! Not very many houses can pull off the shows they put on while waiting in line. There are wandering characters to keep you entertained as well. Another great creep factor is that all the houses on the property can touch you. This seasons Dracula reminded me more of the lost boys than the traditional dracula; which I really liked. The decor in some rooms are the same as years past, but some acts have changed. The actors in the house are great. They really do have to act not just scream. Cletus’s house of ribs was hilarious. These guys should have their own reality show. Some actors are kids and they add a type of creepiness to the house, but my only complaint is they don’t exactly pull off that creepiness when acting in an adult roles. There’s more chainsaws in this house than any other haunt. So if your date is afraid of chainsaws, visit this house. The trail has greatly improved with some wonderful new additions and a great new ending. You will definately leave this house satisfied. The detail and pride they take in this house really shows. I highly recommend visiting Reindeer Manor. While on the property also visit the 13th Street Morgue and Uncle Stinky’s Playhouse.

Captain Creepy here – Reindeer Manor is a one of a kind experience!  From the moment you turn off the old country road, past the firey gates down the long dirt road, the anticipation builds to what is around the corner.  After you find your way to the parking area, a hayride brings you up to the property.  Not a very long ride, but who doesn’t love a hayride!  They have a midway with some clever games and some awesome bbq we enjoyed while waiting in line.  Did someone mention fire!  There is fire all around you at the main attraction, on the roof, at the gates and throughout the trail.  Once inside the house, you instantly know this isn’t your average haunted house boys and girls.  Shrinking rooms, secret moving walls and doors, rooms that tilt back and forth, this place has it all.  The trail was my favorite part this year.  Lots of new sets and my favorite act, the Cletus House of Ribs!  This guy is huge and could probably eat a whole brisket by himself, so watch out if you think you can sneak past him. At the end of the trail you enter an old building that takes you into the mine shaft.  This is the coolest thing I’ve seen this season, hands down!  Not going to spoil it for anyone, come see it for yourself.
