news ~
Reindeer Manor is a Haunted House near Dallas
with a truly haunted past which has been open to the public for over 30 years.
We were one of the first and are one of the oldest haunted attractions in
the Dallas area. Look around and check out all the fun links and info
about the Haunted House we have put together here and make the short trip
from Dallas this season to see what all the hype is about!
Just because it is raining where you are in the Dallas/Fort Worth
metroplex doesn't mean it is raining at Reindeer Manor. The Boy
Scout Motto is "Be Prepared" and we are living up to our parent
organizations mantra by covering all our inclimate weather contingencies.
We thought it might be helpful if you could see exactly what the current
weather conditions are at the haunt before you decide its too wet to visit
us. Even if it does seem a bit too damp you shouldn't let that stop
you from visiting. We will make sure you are as comfortable as possible

The
Bear Creek Road Exit will be closed at 9pm 10/12/07!
You MUST exit Parkerville and
continue down the service road until you get to Bear Creek Road this
weekend
We apologize, but the highway
is being expanded and the construction is progressing to this point at
a very inopportune moment for our guests. It should be back to
normal next weekend.
Update
9/29/07 Real People Reviews are ready for new entries!!
Because of an inundation of spam during the off
season we had to close the Real People Review board
to keep all the ads for pills and other dirty things off of this
site. However, we have been able to purge the spam and proof
the board (as much as possible) so that you can once again tell us
what you think! Good or bad, helpful or hurtful, we
want to hear what you thought about the show last season and what
you think about it this year. Even if you haven't seen it
yet, let us know what you are hoping to see improved upon or
anything else you want to tell us.

Introducing...
Uncle Stinky!
Last season Reindeer Manor added its third
attraction, Uncle Stinky's Playhouse, without its marquee
character; Uncle Stinky himself! Seems the lovable old
curmudgeon got lost on his way from his old home somewhere in
Mississippi. But, all is well now because he has arrived and
is filled with pith and vinegar and ready for the 2007 visitors.
Now our clowns can cavort and caper with their fearless leader...
good ol' Uncle
Stinky. With a ticket price of only $5 your
coupon pays for this Dallas
haunted house completely when you purchase a combo ticket to
all three attractions. Look for him somewhere inside
Uncle
Stinky's Playhouse because you will get the fright of your
life when he says hi!

real live "haunt"
Driving
down a darkened Red Oak street with rain pelting the windshield, I
almost miss the turn. At the last minute I see an iron arch that
reads "Reindeer Manor" and swing into the narrow drive. It winds
uphill for what seems like a long time, and just when I think I
must have passed it, the house looms up ahead. Reindeer Manor is
used as a haunted house at Halloween, and according to the
attraction's Web site, it has an unfortunate history. The original
wooden house burned down in 1915, killing an entire family of
sharecroppers. After the owner rebuilt it using steel, brick and
concrete, his son, James Sharp Jr., moved into it with his wife,
who was active in the Spiritualist movement. Sharp lost his
fortune in the Great Depression and went insane, and his wife
became convinced that the house was cursed. She employed séances,
potions and incantations to rid the house of the hex, but she and
her husband eventually turned up dead in a murder-suicide—she was
found poisoned in the house, he hanging from a noose in the barn.
